Vidales hits walk-off single, Stockton beats Inland Empire

STOCKTON (AP) — Josh Vidales hit a walk-off two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Stockton Ports beat the Inland Empire 66ers 4-3 on Tuesday.
After Stockton scored two runs in the third inning, Inland Empire went up 3-2 on an RBI single by Brendon Sanger in the sixth inning.
Matt Sergey (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Nathan Bates (0-1) took the loss in the California League game.
For the 66ers, Matt Thaiss doubled and singled.

Coaches from rival aquatic sports programs in the area are combining efforts to introduce water polo to younger age groups. Erik Zador and Lauren Koury of Turul Water Polo Academy, formerly Ripon Renegades, fielded four teams this month during the three-week California Super League, including 12-under and 10-under coed squads.
