Tigers four-hit A’s to capture Spreckels Park juniors title

The Tigers put up two four-run innings and limited the A’s to four hits to win the Spreckels Park Juniors championship 10-3 Tuesday at Sierra High School.

Menolo Asuncion (three RBI, three runs) belted a two-RBI single that scored Blake Medeiros (three runs) and Maximo Guarascio with Jaysen Martinez adding a double and a run in the four-run second inning for the Tigers. In the four-run sixth, A.J. Rogers doubled in Asuncion and scored a run, Frank Carter-Castro (2 for 4, two RBI) singled in Rogers and David Patch (two RBI, run) plated Carter-Castro on a groundout.
Ayden Louie was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the A’s, scoring Jonathan Arnoldus on a single in the fifth inning and Isaiah Thompson plated Jacob Thurmon on an RBI double in the sixth. Leadoff batter Arnoldus reached base three times and scored twice for the A’s, rapping a single and walking twice.
The Tigers will represent Spreckels Park in the District 67 Tournament of Champions beginning Saturday, June 17.
