Ripon held a one-run lead Tuesday night until the fourth inning, when Salida scored two runs on a two-out error and held on for a 2-1 win in the semifinal of the District 67 Major Division All-Star Softball Tournament at Thiemann Athletic Park.

Ripon took its lead in the top of the first. Bailey Brown walked, took second on a passed ball, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on a groundout by Joey Myers.

Audri Garcia took to the circle for Salida in the second inning and gave up just one hit the rest of the way, racking up 12 strikeouts. Ripon’s best opportunity to score again came in the third inning when Garcia walked the bases loaded with no outs, only to then strike out the side.

Salida loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth inning when Allison Heiser’s infield grounder was misplayed, scoring Beth Degracia and Giana Mungia. Salida went down in order in the fifth inning, as did Ripon in the sixth.

Ripon faces Tracy tonight at 7 in an elimination game with the winner taking on Salida on Thursday at 7 p.m.
