TRACY — Ripon trailed Northgate by 11 runs going into the bottom of the fifth inning Friday when it tallied nine runs and left the bases loaded only to come up short 12-9 in the semifinal round of the District 67 10-and-under All-Star Tournament at Legacy Fields.

Northgate put up four runs in the fifth inning behind a three-run triple by Manoah Ellis. Graham Allen singled in Ellis to make the score 11-0.

Roelo Noble (3 for 3, RBI, double, two runs) had a single and an RBI double in the Ripon fifth. Bronson Dietrich belted a triple and Jase Bianco, Harper Downs, Mason Dodson and Jessie Vega all had singles for Ripon. Northgate committed five errors in the inning.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the fifth, Northgate’s Carson Beck chased down a short pop fly from first base to end the Ripon threat.

A double by Jackson Frisk (2 for 4, triple, double, two runs) and a two-RBI triple by Nolan Mendes highlighted a five-run second inning for Northgate that bumped its lead to 7-0. Beck singled in the sixth and was relieved on first by Jameson Hicks who worked his way around and stole home to make the score 12-9.

Ripon faces either Mountain House or Spreckels Park in the consolation final this morning at 9:30. The winner of that game advances to the championship round Sunday morning at 9:30 against Northgate.
