TRACY — Manteca’s Charles Rose blasted a two-RBI double, and Brody Carabello had an RBI double in a six-run third inning Sunday on the way to a 13-1 five-inning quarterfinal win over Mountain House in the District 67 12-and-under All-Star Tournament at Legacy Fields.

Carabello (4 for 4, RBI, two doubles, three runs) and Rose (2 for 3, three RBI, double) got things going for Manteca in the first inning. Carabello belted a ground-rule double to start the game and came in on Rose’s single. After Bode Hiatt walked, he and Rose came in on a double by Alex Espinoza (two RBI) for a 3-0 lead.

Blake Scalise and Carabello led off the fourth with back-to-back singles. Scalise came in on a bases-loaded walk to Damian Short and Carabello scored on a wild pitch. Hiatt walked, worked his way to third and scored on a wild pitch and Short scored on an error off the bat of Brennan McMichael to make the score 13-1.

Carabello went 3 2/3 innings, retiring the first eight batters he faced, striking out the side in order in the second inning and finishing with eight strikeouts, three hits and a run. Rose mopped up for the final four outs, striking out three with a walk.

James Miller singled in Jacobi Johnson for the lone Mountain House run in the fourth.
