Jr. Buffs stampede past Mudville Outlaws

 Vinny Diaz and Gabe Ramirez scored two touchdowns apiece Saturday for the Manteca Jr. Buffaloes varsity in a 53-0 drubbing of the Mudville Outlaws at Weston Ranch High School.

Diaz scored on runs of 13 and 47 yards, and Ramirez posted a 16-yard touchdown run and pulled in a 20-yard scoring pass from Blake Scalise. Santino Sanchez scored on a 14-yard run, Kyle Acker returned the second-half kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and Isileli Lolohea scored on a 12-yard run.

Sanchez made six tackles, Isaac Fountain (forced fumble) and Adrian Tamayo five apiece, Isaiah Fountain four with an interception and forced fumble for Elijah Velasquez


Manteca Cowboys 52, Ceres Bulldogs 16

Manteca’s Elias Lopez accounted for three first-quarter touchdowns Saturday at Ceres High.

Lopez (60 yards rushing, 40 yards rushing) scored on a 1-yard run with touchdown throws of 4 yards to Jonathan Morales and 10 yards to Bryant Lewis, who also scored on a 6-yard run.

Terrence Montgomery added a 7-yard scoring run, Giovanni Perry threw a 60-yard scoring pass to Tobias Cox and Zachary Behrbaum returned an interception for a touchdown.

Behrbaum made five tackles with four apiece for Andres Duque, Adam Spino and Elijah Abadan.


Junior varsity

Bulldogs 26, Cowboys 6

Christian Hernandez scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 30-yard run.

Izaiah Faye totaled 79 yards on 12 carries, and Hernandez gained 28 yards on seven carries.

Brady Davis, Christian Hernandez and Eli Jimenez made four stops apiece for the Cowboys, while Jack Benedetti, Ruben Cedano, Brooklyn Montandon and Josiah Hopkins added three tackles apiece.


Jr. Buffaloes 47, Outlaws 13

Maverick Brum returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown to start the Manteca scoring parade before turning the offense over to Brach Carabello.

Carabello (7 of 9 passing, 129 yards) threw touchdown passes of 16 and 60 yards to Maverick Brum and 53 yards to Dennis Jet Johnson. Navi Murillo (three carries for 26 yards) scored on a 5-yard run, Jackson Coenenberg added a 4-yard touchdown run and Max Rios scored from 1 yard out.

John Ellis made six tackles for the Buffaloes and Aizen English four. Dominic Love forced and recovered a fumble.


Rookies

Cowboys 30, Bulldogs 13

Manteca’s Mateo Gavino scored three touchdowns behind 10 carries for 141 yards.

Romeo Huerta (six carries, 83 yards) added a touchdown. Hudson Green gained 54 yards on three carries, Donavyn Williams added 33 yards on three carries and Alejandro Hernandez added 23 yards on four carries.

David Salina forced a safety and made five tackles for the Cowboys. Gavino (two forced fumbles), Adriel Cedano and Daniel Salcedo each made six tackles and recovered a fumble with five tackles and a fumble recovery apiece for Angelo Martinez and Hudson Green. Emilo Covarrubias made four tackles and forced a fumble.


Jr. Buffaloes 43, Outlaws 0

Five different Manteca players scored.

Gilbert Maldonado scored twice on a fumble recovery and a 2-yard run. Jeremiah Williams (four carries, 93 yards) scored on a 50-yard run, Trenton Fitzhugh snuck it in from 2 yards out and completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Benton and Dre Johnson (four carries, 42 yards) added a 17-yard touchdown run.

Johnson made five tackles, Zeke Thomas, Jeremiah Williams, Steven Wynn Jr. and Christopher Antellas four apiece with three each for Brock McCurdy (forced fumble) and Fitzhugh. Mateo Mena recovered a fumble.


Starts

Jr. Buffaloes 6, Outlaws 0

Quarterback Carson Bouslog kept the ball for a 7-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and although the normally high-octane Jr. Buffaloes was kept out of the end zone the rest of the way, the defense rose to the occasion to ensure the shutout win

Carter Louis led the defense with nine tackles. Gabriel Hernandez added six stops and Brixxton Fryer three. Malachi Wright, Harrison Catalano, Christian Cerna, Taj Valentine, uciano Melena and Adrian Mena all contributed to the defense.

Fryer ground out 49 yards on 15 carries. Tiger Singh contributed to the offense.


Cowboys 27, Bulldogs 0    

Manteca’s Jackson Batterson scored one touchdown and set up another.

Batterson scored on a 35-yard run and with a 49-yard run set up a touchdown by Cain Torres. Andrew Cypert scored on a 34-yard run and Frankie Nieto scored a touchdown.

Cypert, Aiden Gonzales, Abraham Benavides, Luis Quezda, Kota Lang, Mason Hernandez, Daya Bajwa and Aaron Hernandez all contributed to the defense.


Delta Youth Football League

Dublin Fighting Irish varsity 42, Manteca Chargers 0

Josaiah Law-Lartigue paced the Manteca offense.

Fabian Aguilar made six tackles, Isaiah Ramirez four with Josiah Law-Lartigue forcing a fumble.


Junior varsity

Chargers 24, Fighting Irish 6

Manteca’s Maysen Cox scored four touchdowns.

Cox (six carries, 143 yards) scored on runs of 15, 50 and 60 yards and on a reception of 34 yards.

Defensively, he made five tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. Diesel Spangler and Dominick Jimenez made four tackles apiece, Julian Baez blocked a punt, Eli Ruiz snagged an interception and Aliah Magana recovered a fumble. Noah Olage contributed to the defense.


Novice 

Fighting Irish 24, Chargers 6

Easton Barreras scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 10-yard run.

Jharon Jackson gained 52 yards on six carries for the Chargers.

Manteca’s Damian Ivers made seven tackles with four and a fumble recovery for Julio Rizo.


Jr. Novice Chargers

Chargers 12, Fighting Irish 0

Shayne Sutherland Jr. and Derringer Spangler each scored a touchdown for Manteca.

Sutherland Jr. (six carries, 81 yards) scored on a 15-yard run and Spangler (six carries, 27 yards) added a 6-yard touchdown run. Jameson Vargas added 33 yards on three carries.

Izaiah Shortridge (fumble recovery), Aiden Reyes (fumble recovery) and Sutherland Jr. made three tackles apiece and Spangler forced a fumble. Grayson Flowers and Vargas contributed on defense.
