Cowboys outlast Tracy Bucs in 3OT

It took three overtimes Saturday, but a 10-yard scoring run by Bryant Lewis sealed the 32-26 victory for the varsity Manteca Cowboys over the Tracy Buccaneers in Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer action at East Union High on Saturday.

In regulation, Elias Lopez (114 yards passing, 40 yards rushing) threw touchdown passes of 26 yards to Tobias Cox (60 yards receiving) and 15 yards to Lewis (37 yards receiving, 50 yards rushing). In overtime, Lopez hit Lewis with a 12-yard scoring throw and Devin Cortinas with a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Lewis made nine tackles with seven each for Aiden Spino and Maleriq Del La Rosa.


Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 43, Stockton Panthers 0

Blake Scalise and Vinny Diaz were in on two touchdowns apiece for the Jr. Buffaloes at Bear Creek High School.

Scalise (115 yards passing) threw touchdown passes of 35 yards to Diaz and 53 yards to Santino Sanchez. Diaz added a 35-yard touchdown run, Isileli Lolohea (two carries, 59 yards) scored on a 45-yard run, Erian Johnson Jr. (two carries 46 yards) added a 43-yard touchdown scamper, and Ethan Serrano capped the scoring with a 2-yard run.

Johnson Jr. (fumble recovery), Diaz and Adrian Tamayo paced the Manteca defense with five tackles apiece. William Edmond (fumble recovery) added four stops and Lolohea three.


Junior varsity

Jr. Buffaloes 35, Panthers 6

Quinnie Dunbar scored a pair of touchdowns for Manteca.

Dunbar (10 carries, 120 yards) scored on runs of 3 and 10 yards. Navi Murillo scored on 6-yard run, Jackson Coenenberg added a 31-yard touchdown run, and Maverick Brum pulled in an 18-yard scoring pass from Brach Carabello.

Grayson Calvillo-Nolan (blocked conversion), Aiden Freitas (forced fumble), John Ellis and Navi Murillo led the Jr. Buffaloes defense.


Buccaneers 30, Cowboys 6

Brady Davis scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 58-yard run in the third period.

Davis tallied 100 yards on seven carries. Izaiah Faye gained 24 yards on 10 carries.

Davis made six tackles with five apiece for Christian Hernandez, Rafael Nunez and A.J. Aguirre five tackles. Eli Jimenez chipped in three tackles.


Rookies

Jr. Buffaloes 41, Panthers 0

Manteca’s Dre Johnson led a balanced Manteca attack with five different Buffaloes scoring touchdowns and two coming on interception returns.

Johnson (seven carries, 140 yards) scored on runs of 16 and 48 yards. Bryson Benton returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown followed by Michael Gully Jr. snagging another interception and returning it 18 yards for a score. Eliceo Calchado scored on a 60-yard run, and Jeremiah Williams (seven carries, 56 yards) added a 6-yard touchdown run. Steven Wynn Jr. added three receptions for 22 yards.

Johnson (five tackles) and Brock McCurdy paced the Jr. Buffaloes defense with five tackles each. Jeremiah Williams (two forced fumbles), Benton (deflected pass) and Steven Wynn Jr. added four stops apiece with three for Jakob Husband. Raphael Kunnassery and Micheal Somera each recovered a fumble.


Buccaneers 25, Cowboys 0

Manteca’s Mateo Gavino tallied 100 all-purpose yards.

Gavino posted 65 yards on three carries and made three receptions for 38 yards. Alejandro Hernandez was 5-of-8 passing for 48 yards, Roma Huerta gained 24 yards on four carries and 10 yards on two receptions and Hudson Green added 23 yards on 10 carries.

Angelo Martinez made six tackles for the Cowboys, Gavino five and Hudson Green three.


Rookies

Jr. Buffaloes 58, Panthers 0

Manteca scored 39 first-half points with Brixxton Fryer, scoring three touchdowns.

On just four carries, Fryer gained 125 yards with scoring runs of 25, 30 and 70 yards. Harrison Catalano (four carries, 85 yards) scored on 22- and 47-yard runs, Carson Louis (three carries, 54 yards) added a 30-yard touchdown run, Carson Bouslog (two carries, 51 yards) scored from 50 yards out and Josiah Silva capped the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown run.

Gabriel Hernandez (fumble recovery) and Christian Cerna made three tackles apiece. Cooper Calvillo-Nolan and Luciano Melena each recovered a fumble.


Buccaneers 31 Cowboys 6

Frankie Nieto scored the lone Manteca touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Jackson Batterson with led the Cowboys with seven tackles. Aiden Gonzales, Andrew Hernandez and Aaron Hernandez added three stops apiece.


Delta Youth Football

Lodi Colts varsity 41, Manteca Chargers 0

The Chargers held the Colts scoreless in the first period Saturday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

Manteca’s Josaiah Law-Lartigue made 30 yards on four carries and Jacob Hightower added two catches for 27 yards.

Law-Lartigue made four tackles, Fabian Aguilar three and Isaiah Ramirez two.


Junior varsity

Colts 19, Chargers 6

Manteca’s Maysen Cox was a standout on both sides of the ball.

Cox gained 107 yards on six carries with a 60-yard touchdown run, and he made seven tackles. Julian Baez added 15 yards on three carries and made one catch for 27 yards, and Jake Dimas Garcia completed two passes for 30 yards.

Baez made four stops with three apiece for Eli Ruiz, Andrew Serrano and Diesel Spangler.


Junior novice

Colts 7, Chargers 6

Manteca trailed 7-0 going into the fourth but could not close the gap completely.

Jameson Vargas (seven carries, 73 yards) scored on a 35-yard run for the Chargers.

Manteca’s Aiden Reyes and Shayne Sutherland, Jr. made four tackles apiece with three each for Izaiah Shortridge (fumble recovery), Elias Aguirre and Grayson Flowers.
