Jr. Buffs trample Ceres Jr. Bulldogs in Central Valley shutout

The Manteca Jr. Buffaloes varsity spanked the visiting Ceres Jr Bulldogs on Saturday 42-0 in Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer action, with Erian Johnson Jr. scoring three touchdowns.

Johnson Jr. gained 151 yards on eight carries with scoring runs of 24, 25 and 40 yards. Vinny Diaz (five carries, 108 yards) added touchdown runs of 27 and 47 yards and Blake Scalise (five carries, 35 yards; three completions, 32 yards) scored on a 10-yard run. Santino Sanchez added 51 yards on three carries and 32 yards on three receptions.

Manteca’s Santino Sanchez made five tackles with three apiece for Nicky Jiminez and Johnson Jr., while Alfredo Pina made an interception.


Manteca Cowboys 46, Mudville Outlaws 0

Elias Lopez and Tobias Cox teamed up for three touchdowns, and Lopez ran in a fourth.

Lopez (85 yards passing, 35 yards rushing) found Cox (80 yards receiving) with touchdown throws of 15, 24 and 40 yards, and Lopez ran in a 3-yard score. Giovanni Perry added touchdown throws of 8 yards to Zach Behrbaum and 8 yards to Rogelio Zamudio. Aiden Spino (50 yards rushing) chipped in a 2-yard touchdown run.

Spino and Devin Cortanis (fumble recovery) made four tackles apiece, and Rogelio Zamudio added three sacks. Perry snagged an interception.


Junior varsity

Jr. Buffaloes 16, Jr. Bulldogs 0

Manteca’s Brach Carabello and John Ellis each scored a touchdown.

Carabello scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak, and Ellis (nine carries, 71 yards) posted a 15-yard touchdown run. Quinnie Dunbar added 48 yards on 11 carries, and Maverick Brum chipped in 22 yards on four carries.

Aiden Freitas led the Jr. Buffaloes with eight tackles, with four apiece for D.J. Benton, Ellis, and Francisco Diaz with three stops each for Ethan Bonderer, Jet Johnson, and Dominic Love. Dunbar, Grayson Calvillo-Nolan and Grayson Keller all contributed on defense.


Cowboys 36, Outlaws 12

Manteca’s Aiden Howe ran for two touchdowns and threw for one.

Howe (three carries, 47 yards; two passes, 60 yards) scored on runs of 3 and 22 yards and connected with Brady Davis (six carries, 59 yards; two receptions, 56 yards) for a 44-yard touchdown pass. Izaiyah Faye (seven carries, 47 yards) scored on 1- and 25-yard runs. Brady Davis added 59 yards on six carries.

Faye made four tackles with three apiece for Davis, Josiah Hopkins and A.J. Aguirre. Nolan Mendes, Christian Cervantes, Rafael Nunez, Christian Hernandez, Lloyal Galtney and Jaxon Martin all contributed on offense.


Rookies

Cowboys 32, Outlaws 0

Manteca’s Mateo Gavino and Choyce Galtney both scored two touchdowns, while each eclipsed 100 yards.  

Galtney tallied 118 yards on three caries, while Gavino gained 111 yards on five carries. Romeo Huerta chipped in 33 yards on four carries with a touchdown,

Romeo Huerta made 10 tackles, Angelo Martinez nine, Gavino and Hudson Green seven apiece, Adriel Cedano six and Donavyn Williams (fumble recovery) four. Alex Gomes forced a fumble.


Jr. Buffaloes 39, Bulldogs 6

Five different Manteca players scored.

Trenton Fitzhugh (9 of 11 passing, 158 yards) threw touchdown passes of 1 yard to Michael Gully and 45 yards to Steven Wynn Jr. (five receptions, 134 yards). Jeremiah Williams (four carries, 93 yards) scored on runs of 15 and 58 yards, Bryson Benton scored on a 9-yard run and Dre Johnson scored from 25 yards out.

The Jr. Buffaloes defense did not allow a touchdown until the fourth period. Johnson interception) and Gilbert Maldonado made four tackles apiece, with three each for Fitzhugh, Zeke Thomas, Jakob Husband and Brock McCurdy. Benton added an interception.

Manteca’s Carter Louis and Tiger Singh scored three touchdowns apiece.

Louis (eight carries, 179 yards) tallied scoring runs of 35, 37 and 50 yards, while Singh (five carries, 96 yards) added 1-, 25- and 40-yard touchdown runs. Brixxton Fryer (four carries, 116 yards) added touchdown runs of 25 and 33 yards.
Gabriel Hernandez (forced fumble, fumble recovery), Carter Louis and Harrison Catalano each made four tackles for the Cowboys, and Christian Cerna made three stops. Angelo Lopez, Singh and Rowan Dhale all contributed on defense.


Outlaws 19, Cowboys 6 

Frankie Nieto scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 25-yard run.

Nieto, Mario German and Aiden Gonzales led the Cowboys defense with three tackles apiece.


Delta Youth Football

Tracy Rampage varsity 38, Manteca Chargers 6

Josaiah Law-Lartigue returned a kickoff 80 yards for the lone Chargers touchdown.

Manteca’s Fabian Aguilar and Christopher Rhoda made five stops apiece, with three each for Carlin Plunk and Jan Pierre Dela Cruz.


Jr. varsity

Chargers 6, Rampage 0

Manteca’s Maysen Cox returned a fumble 65 yards in the third period for the lone score of the game.

Cox gained 72 yards on seven carries, and Julian Baez added 30 yards on five carries.

Cox (fumble recovery) made five tackles with three apiece for Diesel Spangler (fumble recovery), and Dominick Jiminez. Luke Akoa forced a fumble and Noah Olage contributed on defense.


Novice

Rampage 12, Chargers 6

Manteca’s Jharon Jackson scored on a 1-yard run.

Jackson gained 60 yards on nine carries, and Nicanor Acevedo added 30 yards on two carries.

Jackson, Isaac Aguilar and Valentino Aguilar made four stops apiece with three each for Josiah Johnson (forced fumble) and Easton Barreras (interception). Eddie Torres forced a fumble, and Aiden Green recovered a fumble.


Jr. Novice

Rampage 33, Chargers 8

Manteca’s Jameson Vargas scored on a 65-yard run.

Vargas tallied 106 yards on six carries, with Aiden Reyes and Derringer Spangler contributing on offense.

Izaiah Shortridge made five stops for the Chargers, Reyes four and three each for Shayne Sutherland, Jr., Leotis Navarro and Nicholas Serrano.
