Balanced Chargers shut down Cougars

The Manteca Chargers used a balanced attack to defeat the Weston Ranch Cougars 19-0 in Delta Youth Football League action.

Jayden Omadhebo (nine carries, 112 yards) scored on a 16-yard run, Isaiah Middleton (three carries, 78 yards) added a 53-yard scoring run and Alex Espinosa (three carries, 20 yards) scored on an 8-yard touchdown run.

Isaiah Herrera led the Manteca defense with six tackles. Stephan Graham (fumble recovery) added three stops with Colton Madden, Eric Yamamoto and Lorenzo Sereno each making two tackles apiece. Darren Ellis made an interception and a fumble recovery, Dominic Balugo an interception and Omadhebo forced a fumble.

 

Junior varsity

Cougars 39, Chargers, 0

Weston Ranch led 26-0 halftime.

Aiden Howe (four carries 30 yards) and Jameson Hicks (five carries 40, yards) led the Manteca offense.

Noah Olage and Kristian Miranda made four tackles apiece for the Chargers with three for Israel Juarez and two for Kingston Johnson.

 

Novice

Cougars 52, Chargers 0

Manteca’s Jayden Shortridge gained 36 yards on five carries and made three tackles.

Arieon Shortridge added 27 yards on four carries and made two tackles. Lloyal Galtney chipped in 20 yards on three carries.

Blake Rauchman made two tackles.

 

Junior novice

Chargers 35, Cougars 26

Manteca’s Jharon Jackson and Choyce Galtney combined for four touchdowns and nearly 300 rushing yards.

Jackson (five carries, 145 yards) scored on runs of 25 and 65 yards while Galtney added 143 yards on four carries with touchdown runs of 43 and 58 yards. Adrian Agatrap added a 1-yard scoring run.

Wyatt Love made seven tackles for the Chargers followed by Adrian Juarez with four, Jameson Varga, Legend Johnson and Izaiah Shortridge with three each and two for Aldo Miramontes, Aiden Reyes, Jackson and Agatrap.
