Kyle Alexander shattered records once again in his final tune-up for the International Powerlifting League Worlds.

The 18-year-old Sierra High grad won the first-ever Boss of Bosses Powerlifting Meet by hoisting a total of 1,432 pounds this past Sunday in Mountain View. It’s a new state record in the 18-19-year-old, 220-pound division.

Alexander also broke his own state records in the squat (529) and deadlift (600) while benching 303 pounds. He is off to a big start in his powerlifting career, which began in February. All he has done is pick up medals and shatter records since.

Alexander will truly be tested on Nov. 8 at Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. There, he will compete in the IPL Worlds, which will be the biggest event he has entered.

“I’m aiming to get the world record deadlift, which is 600 pounds,” Alexander said. “I pulled it off in the last meet, but it has to be at Worlds to be official.”

Alexander could use some help in getting there. He has already picked up three sponsors in Manteca Cal Fit, Manteca Togo’s and Fight Labs but could use additional funds to help pay for entrée fees, travel and lodging.
