Led by double-double efforts from Alaba Olaleye and Janessa Ward, Lathrop held off Pacheco for a 25-19, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23 win in Los Banos on Tuesday.

The Spartans improved to 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference and 4-1 overall.

Olalaye netted 14 kills, 22 digs and six aces, while Ward turned in 10 kills and 10 digs.

Camila De La Garza anchored the attack with 25 assists to go with four aces and six digs. Irais Martinez paced the defense with 23 digs and had four aces and three assists. ZaRyah Mageo contributed four solo blocks and three kills.

Kimball 3, Lathrop 0

Lathrop (4-2) could not get over the hump in the non-league match Wednesday in Tracy. Kimball prevailed, 25-22, 25-11, 25-22.

Elizabeth Andrade paced the Spartans with nine kills and six digs. Azul Maldonado had seven kills and seven digs. Olaleye added six kills and eight digs.

Martinez contributed 15 digs. Alejandra Vasquez and De La Garza handed out 12 and 10 assists, respectively.

Lathrop 2, Pacheco 1

A back-and-forth battle turned into a runaway win for the visiting Spartans, 25-23, 20-25, 15-3.

Annie Millan stood out with seven kills, three aces and three digs. Annabelle Obasuyi hammered five kills, Justine Mabutas tallied 10 digs and six service aces, and Julia Roaquin registered 12 assists and three aces.

Lathrop 2, Kimball 1

The Spartans escaped Tracy with a hard-earned 25-21, 20-25, 15-12 win.

Milyn Morales scored six kills to lead the attack. She also had two aces and two digs. Zoe Cejas and Mabutas picked up five and seven digs, respectively. Roaquin tallied nine assists and two aces.

Lathrop 2, Pacheco 1

Lathrop finished strong after dropping the opening set, 11-25, 25-8, 15-9.

Shakara Porter produced five kills, and Nevaeh Hubbard had three. Tatiana Lopez served five aces, while Alyana Vere and Kriselle Matela chipped in three apiece.

Kimball 2, Lathrop 0

The Spartans came up short, 17-25, 24-26.

Vere amassed nine aces and three digs. Porter contributed three kills. Kira Davis had three aces and two kills. Matela handed out four assists.
