On Tuesday, Sierra High’s sophomore soccer program kept an impressive season rolling in the right direction with a 4-0 win over Lathrop High in Valley Oak League play.
Asia Cortez, Alexis Romo, Jaqi Revives and Shariah Davidson all scored goals in the victory. Sierra (6-1-0 VOL, 10-3-2 overall) will try and stay on the right track when they play host to the Weston Ranch Cougars today at 5 p.m.
Sierra (3-1, 9-1) got five runs apiece from Sommer Wilson and Ceecee Nevarez to pace the club. Wilson finished the game 2 for 3 with an RBI double, while Nevarez was 3 for 5 with four runs driven in. Shakira Lewis was 3 for 4 with a pair of runs and an RBI, while Brianne Lenoci was 2 for 4 and scored three runs as well as drove in three.

Jason Manuta led a potent Sierra offensive attack with a 4 for 6 day at the plate, while teammate Mason Merilles was 3 for 5 in the win. T. Rey Hewitt closed the door on the Buufaloes, going the final two innings on the mound and retiring five of the six outs with strikeouts. The two clubs will meet up again today at Sierra high.Freshman
