MODESTO — Sierra barely broke at sweat at Johansen Wednesday evening in a 25-10, 25-13, 25-14 sweep of the Vikings.
Modesty Rodriguez led the way again, this time with 15 assists and 21 service points to complement a trio of digs, while Alysia Atkins turned in seven kills and five service points.
Jaslynn Liotard was impressive on the defensive end, rejecting four Viking hits, while turning in 10 service points, five kills, and four digs.
Sierra Tailes had five kills, and Nicole Sylvester defended well on four digs.
“We passed much better tonight,” T’Wolves head coach Tevani Liotard said. “We got some things done that we haven’t been able to up until this point.
“Things are coming together, slowly but surely.”
Liotard was also happy with Michelle Arroyo’s performance.
“Michelle did a really good job passing,” she said. “She went and got at least four key balls for us. She’s adjusting to her new position and doing a good job with it.”
Sierra (2-1) will head to the West Tournament over the weekend.
Contests with Stagg and Franklin loom next week.

Stevie Leeman had eight service points and two kills, while Alexis Davis had nine service points and two aces.
Elia Vasquez and Nicole Moreno had a kill each.
Sierra (3-0) travels to Stagg Tuesday.
Despite the 16-25, 25-19, 19-25, 23-25 loss, the Spartans put up a serious fight.
“We played a very good game,” Lathrop head coach Angela Cuellar said. “The game was very close, we played our hearts out.”
Lathrop’s freshman won in two, 25-11, 25-9.
The Lancers looked good for the second night in a row, this time in a 25-18, 25-8, 25-13 win.
Lexy Posz led the way at the stripe, turning in four aces, while Miranda Hamm scooped three digs.
Amber Abidi turned in four kills, as did Rachel O’Neal (two blocks).
“Everyone contributed to the win,” EU head coach Eryn Bowers said. “It was nice to see the girls come together as a team.”
East Union’s sophomores fell in three.
