Sonora 3, Ripon 2
In a rematch of a Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV semifinal Tuesday, the host Indians were unable to carry their early momentum in a 25-18, 25-11, 20-25, 14-25, 12-15 defeat. Sonora swept the previous meeting and lost to Escalon in the final.

“We played hard the first two sets last night,” Ripon coach Casey Berry said. “We had an opportunity to move around our players and give our starters a rest.  We started off well, but momentum shifted on our side and Sonora took advantage of that.”

Makenzie Loechler and Avery McKiernan stood out for Ripon.
