Sierra swept a three-way Valley Oak League swim meet with Manteca and East Union on Friday, defeating the Buffaloes boys 59-28, the Lancers boys 58-6, the East Union girls 135-16 and Manteca girls 133-32.
The Buffaloes won the boys and the girls dual meet with the Lancers, winning the boys 29-22 and the girls 91-30.
The Timberwolves girls won every event against the Lancers and Buffaloes.
Sierra’s Lauren Ellis won the 200 free, 500 free and the 200 medley and 400 free relays with Amy Fadeef, Jennifer Graves and Keira Brink.
“I felt pretty good out there,” Ellis said of the 200 freestyle. “That was the first time I competed in it this year.”
Along with the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, Brink won the 50 free and 100 butterfly. Stefani Perez and Gianna Ramos were on the 200 freestyle relay along with Taylor Miske and Madison Madrid with Ramos taking the 100 free and Perez the 100 backstroke.
East Union’s Amelia Trejo was second in the 100 butterfly and Manteca’s Ava Yandris was second in the 100 backstroke.
In the boys competition, Erfan Ballew was a four-even winner for Sierra in 200 individual medley, 100 freestyle, the 200 medley and 200 free relays with Moises Alvarado and Gabe Monasterio. Eric Andrade swam in the 200 medley relay and Josh Lopez the 200 free relay. Alvarado won the 100 backstroke against both the Lancers and Buffaloes and Monasterio won the 100 butterfly against Manteca.
The East Union and Manteca boys won three events. For the Buffaloes, Winston Snyder won the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke and Snowden Snyder won the 200 freestyle.
William Story won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly for the Lancers and Adam Taveras won the 50 freestyle.
“I started strong in the first two laps,” Story said of the 100 butterfly. “I was keeping it consistent but the last lap always kills me.
“This was my best time so far this year.”
Between the East Union and Manteca boys, Story won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly for the Lancers and Tavares the 100 freestyle. Winston Snyder won the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke for the Buffaloes and Snowden Snyder won the 100 backstroke.
Between the East Union and Manteca girls, Emilee Craighead won four events for the Buffaloes in the 500 freestyle, the 50 freestyle, and the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays with Amelia Trejo, Ayana Van Staaveren and Aryana Barraza. Trejo added wins in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.
“This was my first 500 race of the year,” Craighead said. “It was pretty good.”
Alayna Yandris won the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke for the Lancers.
