ROUNDUP: Spartans vanquish Pacheco in WAC flag football victory

Lathrop’s flag football downed visiting Pacheco 28-12 on Wednesday and remains a game back of first-place in the Western Athletic Conference.

Luz De Luna finished 20-of-28 passing for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Jaleiyah Ray was on the receiving end of one of those touchdowns and added another on the run. She totaled 175 yards from scrimmage.

Heiddy Camacho (three receptions, 60 yards) and Kiana Quintero (2-11) each caught a touchdown.

Sareah Reed led the defense with four tackles and one interception.

The Spartans (7-1 WAC, 13-2 overall) travel to Grace Davis next Monday.


CROSS COUNTRY

Western Athletic Conference

Jacqueline Pena Santillan was the varsity girls runner-up at O’Neill Forebay, leading Lathrop’s second-place finish in the second conference meet of the season. She had a time of 21 minutes, 22.3 seconds.

Mackenzie Collins took seventh in 22:57.2.

Lathrop’s boys team was paced by Riley Gier, who took 12th in 17:44.1.

Morgan Hegler anchored the attack, completing seven of nine passes and three of them for touchdowns. She also had eight rushes for 116 yards.

Citlali Lopez, Cassidy Rudd and Kylee Soares each had a touchdown reception.
