ROUNDUP: Ripon, RC end 1st half of TVL with big volleyball wins

Ripon’s girls volleyball team has opened up a two-match lead in defense of its Trans-Valley League title, sweeping past host Hilmar 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 on Tuesday.

The Indians (6-0, 17-1) remain alone at the top at the midway point of the TVL schedule, while Hilmar (4-2, 15-7) shares second place with Ripon Christian.

Adrianna Dorn dominated at the net with 19 kills and two solo blocks. Jorie Eskes contributed 10 kills and two blocks. Shayla McKeon had five kills and one solo stuff. Chloe Lautenslager had two blocks.

Setter Katelyn Bogetti distributed 30 assists to go with three kills, four digs and a block. Kennedy Everhart had six digs and two aces. Emeri Lane added five digs, three assists and two aces.


Ripon Christian 3, Sonora 1

The Knights (4-2, 10-11) notched a third straight TVL win, staving off visiting Sonora (3-3, 10-5) 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22 in an important match for both teams.

Paige Van Hofwegen spearheaded the attack with 23 kills and three aces. Setter Alanna Blanco amassed 41 assists and 19 digs.

Anneke Dyt led the back-row defense with 20 digs, Brynn Bohn tallied three blocks and Tatum Sonke contributed three aces.

Sonora won both lower-level matches.


Manteca 3, Patterson 0

The Buffaloes (5-2, 10-5) took care of business 25-16, 25-23, 25-13 ahead of their pivotal VOL match with rival Sierra.

Riley Ward orchestrated a balanced attack with 20 assists, three kills and three aces.

Saniyah Anthony netted nine kills and 11 digs. Ariceli Castillo had six kills and three aces. Amil Gaskins chipped in five kills and three blocks.

Libero Nicole Ayala picked up 15 digs.


Mountain House 3, East Union 0

The Lancers (2-4, 4-8) were swept at Dalben Center, 10-25, 18-25, 16-25.

Meritiani Luani led them with 10 service points, three aces, five assists and five digs. Jedah Haywood had four kills and two digs. Katelyn Trevino added four points, two aces, six digs and two aces. Giselle Velazquez picked up six digs.


GIRLS TENNIS

Manteca 7, Sierra 2

Michailla Springs staved off Manveer Dosanjh 6-0, 6-7 (7), 6-4 in the No. 3 singles match, securing the VOL win for Manteca.

The Buffaloes went on to take two more three-set wins. Parm Toor won at No. 5 singles 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 against Puneet Gill. At No. 2 doubles, Delialah Sanchez and Rubi Sepulveda prevailed, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.

No. 1 singles Emma Ngo and No. 4 Simar Mann both won, 6-0, 6-0. Shreya Raman took the No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-0. Paisley Coenenberg held on to win 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

Sierra No. 1 doubles partners Nitali Gonzalez and Evelin Garcia triumphed, 6-0, 6-2. Janessa Felix and Amara Kenechokwu took the No. 3 doubles match, 4-6, 6-2, 10-2.


GIRLS GOLF

East Union 251, Mountain House 275

The Lancers moved to 5-0 in the VOL with the win at Tracy Golf & Country Club.

They were paced by 48s from Jessica Ingalls and Arianna Pale. Kendall Perry added a 49. Alizae Farias had a 51, and Jocelyn Diaz a 55.

Mountain House’s Iryana Frahm was low medalist with a 45 and followed by teammate Georgia McAndrews’ 46.


Pacheco 241, Lathrop 251

Yadira Hernandez and Ashley Yuuki Abon Garcia each carded a 44 to lead Lathrop at St. Stanislaus Golf Course.

Also contributing for the Spartans were Madison Dash (52), Savanna Quezada (55) and Kriselle Matela (56).

Pacheco’s Gracie Luis was low medalist with a 14-over-par 42.

FLAG FOOTBALL

East Union 29, Oakdale 28

The Lancers (6-1 VOL, 12-3 overall) narrowly escaped Oakdale with the win.

Caliyah Lopez came through with 145 receiving yards, 37 rushing yards, two touchdowns and a big interception on defense.

Receiver Kaylee Mejia had 58 receiving yards and two TDs to go with five tackles and a pick on defense.

Quarterback Julianna Gaspar threw for 259 yards and two scores. She also rushed for 31 yards on three acarries.

Larissa Harries pitched in seven tackles, a sack and two pass deflections on defense. Trinity Kemptner added a sack and a tackle.


JV girls volleyball

Manteca 2, Patterson 0

The Buffaloes swept 25-14, 25-10 behind Maddie Nunes’ six kills, six digs and eight service points.

Naima Calderon also had six kills and six digs. Chloe Martin collected nine service points, seven digs and two aces. Annika Burns dished out nine assists to go with two kills.

East Union 25, Oakdale 0

Amirah Harrington completed touchdown passes to Elizabeth Banuelos and Elli Flores.

Savannah Lopez and Jayleen Tuggles each scored on interception returns.


Frosh girls volleyball

East Union 2, Mountain House 1

Camille Christensen fired nine kills and three aces to help the Lancers come out on top, 15-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Setter Maria Kallandktll amassed 23 assists and three aces. Kadence Rossi racked up four kills, three aces and a block. Isabella Martinez Loopez chimed in with three kills, three blocks.


Manteca 2, Patterson 0

The Buffaloes cruised to the 25-8, 25-14 victory.

Cali Vanni accumulated nine aces and finished with 14 service points. Jill Aldape registered six aces, six assists and two kills. Dannica Branco served up seven aces.
