Led by co-medalists Sienna Pimentel and Cameron Seefeldt, Ripon’s girls golf team defeated Sonora 189-203 Thursday in a Trans-Valley League dual match at Jack Tone Golf Course.

Pimentel and Seefeldt both carded 13-over-par 44s. Makayla Youngman paced Sonora with a 47.

Skylar Pimentel contributed a 48 for the host Indians. Dylann Ballard rounded out their score with a 53.


Valley Oak League Tournament

East Union’s Jessica Ingalls finished 14-over 86, finishing in a tie for fourth place at Manteca Park Golf Course. She helped the Lancers place second as a team with a 484 score behind Oakdale’s 435.

Hannah Hershback and Bella Cortez placed 1-2 for Oakdale, and Mountain House’s Iryana Frahm took third with an 84.

East Union’s Arianna Pale finished sixth with an 88. Ava Gutierrez (98), Alizae Farias (105) and Kendall Perry (107) made the rest of the Lancers’ score.

Fourth-place Manteca (579) was led by Emily Camara’s 87. Clare Cook (107), Ayahna Ruby (119), Layla Flannigan (120) and Rebecca Navaro (136) also scored for the Buffaloes.

Sierra (621) scoring came from Alyssa Suarez (115), Hannah Williamson (119), Kate De Belen (126), Kanika Tyagi (126) and Nikitha Mungangarajan (135).


GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Ripon Christian 3, Hughson 1

Paige Van Hofwegan amassed 16 kills and 20 digs, leading host Ripon Christian (1-1, 7-9 overall) to a 25-12, 25-17, 11-25, 25-22 TVL win.

Setter Alanna Blanco distributed 41 assists. Anneke Dyt led the defense with 23 digs, while Haley Kootstra contributed two blocks. Alyssa Hofman fired three aces.

Hughson fell to 0-2 in the TVL, 7-7 overall.


Central Catholic 3, Manteca 0
In Modesto, the Buffaloes (1-2, 6-5) were swept by reigning VOL champion Central Catholic (3-0, 7-1), 20-25, 16-25, 11-25.

Saniyah Anthony (10 kills), Nicole Ayala (13 digs), Amil Gaskins (three blocks), Trinity Todd (four blocks) and Riley Ward (12 assists) led Manteca.


Ripon 3, Big Valley Christian 0

The Indians (12-1) had their way with BVC (9-3) in the non-league match, 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.

Adrianna Dorn led them with 13 kills and four aces. Jorie Eskes added seven kills and two blocks. Katelyn Bogetti handed out 26 assists. Olivia Newman (five kills, three blocks), Skayla McKeon four kills and Emeri Lane (four aces) were other key contributors.


GIRLS TENNIS

East Union 5, Sierra 4

The Lancers got the edge Tuesday by winning all three doubles matches.

Their No. 1 tandem of Danica Sanchez and Danica Simpson held on for the 7-5, 1-6, 7-5. No. 2 Samantha Escamilla and Jaklyn Virelas swept, 6-2, 6-2. The third team of Roshel Mathew and Atyana Rodriguez ground out a 6-8, 6-1, 10-8 win.

Jalyssa Molina defeated Sasha Martin 7-5, 6-2 in No. 1 singles. East Union also prevailed at No. 3 singles, as Miranda Renter fended Munveer Dosanjh, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Winning singles matches for Sierra: Makayla Villalobos (6-4, 6-2), Ruth Beedi (6-0, 6-3), Puneet Gill (6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and Elina Nguyen (6-0, 6-2).


Oakdale 8, East Union 1

East Union’s lone win came from No. 2 doubles Samantha Escamilla and Jakyn Virelas, who overcame Brea Magcalas and Emmaley Krause, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.


Manteca 6, Patterson 3

Two three-set wins helped propel Manteca (2-0, 3-3 overall) to the VOL road win.

No. 3 singles player Michailla Springs squeaked out a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over Ashley Saavedra. No. 2 doubles partners Allyson Alvarez and Pia Kley pulled out a 6-2, 5-7, 11-9 win. The third doubles team of Rubi Sepulveda and Delailah Sanchez Torres prevailed 6-4, 7-6 (6).

Manteca’s top two players won in sweeps: Emma Ngo 6-0, 6-3 over Violet Tongson, and Shreya Raman over Isabella Clauzel, 6-1, 6-2. No. 4 Simar Mann also swept, 6-3, 6-4.


BOYS WATER POLO

Ripon 17, Mountain House 10

With several players sitting out in preparation for a weekend tournament, Ripon had little trouble in notching the VOL victory Wednesday.

Matt Lee led the attack with four goals and three assists. Brody Biedermann added four goals and played goalie in the second half, coming up with six blocks.

McKeane Beyer recorded two goals, five assists and five steals. Devin Patel scored twice and had two assists and four steals.

Oscar Guerra chipped in two goals, while Joseph Ott, Ethan Hsieh and Nate Selna had one each. Jaiden Chandar helped anchor the defense with three steals and two blocks. Selna started in goal, coming up with seven blocks and two steals in the opening half.


JV girls volleyball

Ripon Christian 2, Hughson 0

Annika Jung produced 13 assists and 11 digs to pace RC in the 25-16, 25-19 sweep.

Lauren Mouw netted four kills, 10 digs and three aces. Eden Danhoff and Jaelynn Van Vliet each contributed four kills.

The Knights also won the freshman match, 2-1.


Manteca 2, Central Catholic 1

The Buffaloes held on for the hard-earned 23-25, 25-20, 16-14 win.

Audrey McKee accumulated six kills, five service points, four digs and three aces for Manteca. Madeline Nunes added 15 digs, four kills and four service points.

Annika Burns led the attack with 13 assists and five service points. Chloe Martin picked up seven digs.


Frosh girls volleyball

Central Catholic 2, Manteca 0

Manteca came up short, 16-25, 10-25.

Susan Joseph and Lana Bondoc collected seven and six digs, respectively.
