 Lucas Rietkirk scored five goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Andrew Hanker had five saves to help Ripon’s water polo team down Sierra 17-13 in a Valley Oak League game hosted at Manteca High.

The Indians (5-0, 12-3 overall) were coming off their second straight championship run in the Roddy Svendsen Shootout.

Teo West contributed four goals, two assists and steal. Brody Biedermann collected three goals, two assists, four steals and two blocks.

McKeane Beyer added two goals, three assists, two steals and a block. Ben Svoboda had two goals, two assists, a block and a steal. Devin Patel pitched in one goal and two assists.

Lathrop 27, Beyer 0

At Johansen, Jaleiyah Ray racked up seven receptions, 105 yards, one touchdown, a one-point try and 28 additional yards on three rushes to lead the Spartans (6-1, 11-2 overall) to the Western Athletic Conference win.

Quarterback Luz De Luna completed 14 of 27 passes for 154 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion pass to Kirat Sidhu. Abigail Renteria added a touchdown pass to Faith Allen (four receptions, 23 yards; four carries, 54 yards).

Aaliyah Thompson had five carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Kiana Quintero contributed a touchdown reception.

Angie Gonzalez led the defense with five tackles and two pass breakups. Tianna Gonzalez and Thompson each chipped in an interception.

Lathrop did much of its damage on the ground, as Melia Lewis compiled 135 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.

Morgan Hegler (9-of-16 passing, 93 yards) connected with Adamaris Robles (two receptions, 41 yards) for the Spartans’ other touchdown.
