Another night, another hat trick for Ripon’s Olivia Maragos.
The senior striker scored three goals Wednesday in an 8-0 thrashing of visiting Hughson, marking her fifth hat trick of the season and fourth in the Indians’ last five games.
It didn’t take her long to find the back of the net, as Maragos scored in the fifth minute off a feed from Rylee Agbayani. Agbayani finished with a brace, scoring in the 20th and 42nd minutes.
Madelyn Reedy contributed with one goal and two assists. Emily Paxton and Danielle Rey added one goal apiece. Taylen Dayak and Clara Schoolland each had an assist.
Kylie Wiggins came up with two saves, as the Trans-Valley League leading Indians (7-0, 12-3-1 overall) held a 22-2 advantage in shot attempts.
Ripon doesn’t play again until next Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Orestimba.
Hilmar 4, Ripon Christian 3
The visiting Yellowjackets (5-1-1 TVL, 11-4-3 overall) a breakaway goal in the final minute of each half, and that helped them escape Ripon Christian (3-4-0, 9-6-1) with a hard-earned win.
RC battled back from a 3-1 halftime lead to tie it Alanna Blanco converted on a set piece, and Naomi Hendricks scored the equalizer. Brooke Barnes tallied the Knights’ early goal that was set up by a pass from Addison De Jong.
Sierra 7, Central Catholic 0
The Timberwolves (6-1-0, 15-3-2 overall) had their way with Central Catholic (2-4-1, 4-9-1) in the Valley Oak League tilt at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.
Hailey Cruz led the onslaught with two goals and an assist, while Leslie Reyes had three assists to go with her goal. Zoe Sutton added one goal and two assists.
Aman Dhillon, Peyton Duarte and Maitland Kohoutek chimed in with one goal each. Hannah Hint had an assist. Sierra fired 23 shots, 12 on goal.
Goalie Abigail Frazer collected four saves.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Escalon 45, Ripon Christian 12
Ripon Christian (1-3 TVL, 5-8 overall) was limited to two points in each of the first two quarters, as the visiting Cougars (3-1, 10-9) rolled to a 28-4 halftime lead Tuesday.
Reagan Van Der Hoek paced the Knights to six points. Arianna Velasco and Madi Babasa scored 13 and 10, respectively, for Escalon.
