ROUNDUP: Manteca nets girls tennis win over EU

Manteca swept all singles matches Wednesday at Manteca Regional Tennis Center, and that was enough to propel the Buffaloes to a 6-3 girls tennis win over visiting East Union.

Emma Ngo knocked off Trinity Pacheco 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Shreya Raman defeated Jalyssa Molina at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1.

Christina Nguyen (6-2, 6-0), Michailla Springs (6-0, 6-2), Simar Mann (6-0, 6-0) and Pailsey Coenenberg (6-0, 6-2) took care of the rest.

East Union won the three doubles contests. The top tandem of Jarely Ortiz and Gabriella Castillo bested Rubi Sepulveda and Kristina Timaro, 7-5, 6-2. Gianna Fernandez and Carrera Mendez outlasted Jada Navales and Allyson Alvarado at No. 2 doubles. Danica Simpson and Alyana Rodriguez won, 6-0, 6-2.

Ripon 3, Hilmar 1

The Trans-Valley League-leading Indians (4-0, 20-2 overall) had their streak of 21 set wins ended on Wednesday, but they righted the ship for its eighth straight victory, 23-25, 25-14, 25-13, 27-25.

Reagan Wilkerson led them with 19 assists, five kills, six digs, six aces and three blocks, Adriana Dorn added 12 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and three aces.

Kaya Whittaker (11 assists, five digs), Amelia Lara (12 digs), Katherine Eskes (nine kills, two blocks, five digs), Kylee Fullmer (seven kills, four digs) and Kailee Inderbitzin (two kills, five blocks, five aces) also keyed the win.

Ripon 2, Hilmar 0

Alayna Sprinkle registered nine assists, four kills and four aces to help Ripon cruise to 25-9, 25-11 sweep.

Kyra Schnenger contributed eight assists and two aces. Kennedy Everhart collected six kills and six digs. Faith Gamez served seven aces.
