MODESTO – The East Union High boys volleyball squad evened its Valley Oak League mark to 1-1 after defeating host Central Catholic on Wednesday.
The Lancers (5-2) rolled to victory in three games, 25-10, 25-15, 25-8.
Keenan Yang and Guadalupe Reyes led EU with each scoring 11 points in the winning cause. Yang also had eight digs and pair aces while Reyes delivered on five kills and four serving aces.
In addition, Gabe Estabillo accounted for 10 points, two aces, five kills, with Isaac Serato having 10 assists, and Jacob Padilla tallying seven kills and two aces.
Next up for East Union is Ripon Christian in non-conference play on Friday.
Ripon Christian 3, Riverbank 0 Danny Lambdin had 32 assists and Mason Tameling came through with 12 kills as the Knights (2-0, 9-2) defeated Riverbank (0-1, 0-4) in Trans-Valley League action on Wednesday, 25-6, 25-10, 25-23.

Lambdin and Tameling both had five serving aces in the win.
Isaiah Vander Woude chipped in with three kills, two aces, and two blocks for RC, Grant Wentworth delivered on five kills and two blocks, Reagan Sauer had six kills, and Darren Van Groningen contributed with four kills and three aces.
Ripon 3, Hilmar 0
The Indians (2-0 TVL, 10-2) took care of Hilmar (0-2 TVL, 3-9) Wednesday in three games, 25-8, 25-14, 25-22.
Ripon will travel to Beyer today at 6 p.m.
Livingston 3, Lathrop 1
The Spartans fell to Livingston in four games on Wednesday, 23-25, 20-25, 25-22, 21-25.
Gabriel Fa’ali’i paced Lathrop, tallying 13 kills to go along with eight digs, five aces, and two blocks.
Meauta Miller chipped in with 10 kills, two digs and block; Elias Medel racked up seven digs and six kills; Mac Llorin finished with five blocks, three kills, and two blocks; Cameron Loyola dished out 32 assists while coming up with two aces and two digs; and Josh Ramirez managed five digs for Lathrop.

Lathrop 2, Livingston 0
The Spartans won in two games on Wednesday, 25-16, 25-14.
Leading the way was Jayden White, who had 11 kills, five digs, an ace, and one solo block.
Dylan Beltran added five kills and three digs; Bryan Gamboa also had five kills along with two digs; Christopher Ygay came through with seven digs, two aces, and an assist; and Mario Luna contributed with 20 assists and a dig.
BASEBALL
Pitman 8, East Union 7
The Pride rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to squeak past the visiting Lancers in non-league play Wednesday.
East Union (6-4) led 2-0 early on before Pitman struck for four rungs in the third inning.
Down 4-2, the Lancers forged ahead by scoring three in fourth and two more in the fifth, upping their lead, 7-4.
But Pitman (4-5) struck back by scoring twice in the bottom of the fifth, delivering the game-winner in the final frame.
Ben Vilhauer and Nathan Cervantes had the big hits for the Pride, driving in three and two runs, respectively.
Blake Mount had a strong offensive outing for EU, going 4 for 4 with a triple and two RBI. Brayden Camara delivered on a two-run homer while Randy Martinez was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.
The Lancers are scheduled to host Central Catholic on Monday.
Manteca 9, Downey 6
Cameron Jimenez homered, drove in three runs while going 2 for 2 in leading the Buffaloes past the Knights in non-league action on Wednesday.
Manteca (9-2) overcame a 6-2 deficit at Downey (1-7), taking the lead in the fifth inning, adding two more in the sixth, and tacking on an insurance run in the sev-enth.
Dane Williams also had a big game by going 3 for 3 with a double and scoring twice. Chris Chavez was 2 for 4 with a double and Edward Anthony had two RBI.
Manteca will travel to Turlock on Friday. Lathrop 10, Grace Davis 5 The Spartans (1-0, 3-6) rallied for seven runs in the sixth, dropping Davis (0-1, 6-3) in Wednesday’s Western Athletic Conference League opener.
They’re scheduled to take on Davis again today at 4:30 p.m. Sophomore Tommy Hammond led Lathrop by going 3 for 4, driving in three runs and scoring twice.
Jordan Blase was 3 for 4 with two RBI and a double, Vaugh Sanchez drove in a pair of runs, Carson Scott had two RBI, and Angel Sararan and Nazir Jones both went 2 for 4 in the win.
SOFTBALL
Lathrop 10, Pacheco 1
The Spartans opened WAC play by powering past Pacheco on Wednesday.
Lathrop (1-0, 4-2) scored all 10 of its runs in the first inning over the visiting Pan-thers (0-1, 3-6).
Aubree Martinez and Ja’Leiyah Ray, who had a double, both drove in a pair of runs. Tianna Gonzalez also had a double for the Spartans, who will take on Es-calon on Monday.
