The Manteca boys boasted four individual event winners Saturday for the most points in the Inaugural Dave Soeth MUSD Backyard Bash, and when combined with the Manteca girls, the Buffaloes claimed the championship trophy at Dino Cunial Stadium.
The Manteca boys tallied 116 points, East Union finished second (79), Lathrop third (71), Sierra fourth (56) and Weston Ranch fifth (28).

Finishing second for Manteca were Brown (300 hurdles, 42.94), Levi Perez (discus 128-7) and the 4x100 relay team (43.79) with third-place finishes for Julian Moncada (400, 52.06) and Jamir Mellion (shot put, 42-0).
Ernesto Pacheco Jr. (3,200, 10:04.60) and the 4x800 relay team (8:27.44) finished first for Sierra with Landen Nabb (800, 2:03.80) and Mateo Cervantez (3,200, 11:25.95) finishing second and Mantoj Grewal (110 hurdles, 16.93; 300 hurdles, 44.21) Max Perez (1,600, 4:53.51) and Sean Arce (discus, 123-9) finishing third.

East Union’s Jackson Fay (100, 10.87) and the 4x100 relay team (42.91) finished first. Fay (200, 22.09), J.P. Abrew (100, 11.06), Cesar Salinas (400, 51.21) and Mario Quezada (110 hurdles, 16.41) were second with third-place finishes for Abrew (200, 22.54), Darrion Brown (100, 11.57), Trenton Bradshaw (3,200, 11:41.92), Sean Rutter (pole vault, 10-6), 4x400 relay (3:36.13), 4x800 relay (9:13.84).
Lathrop’s Gavin Miller (pole vault, 14-5 ¾) brought home a gold medal. Riley Gier (1,600, 4:46.53), Everardo Gomez (pole vault, 12-0), Pablo Pena (shot put, 44-0), Sadeon Lungay (triple jump, 42-3), the 4x400 relay team (3:52.52) and 4x800 relay team (8:40.82) finished second with third-place finishes for Gier (800, 2:04.36), Gomez (high jump, 5-8), Lungay (long jump, 18-8) and the 4x100 relay team (45.86).
Sierra won the girls competition with 94 points followed by Lathrop (80), Manteca (79), Weston Ranch (51) and East Union (45).
Sierra’s Anayah Wills won the 100 (12.84) and 200 (26.49). Other Timberwolves to bring home the gold were Janessa Barnes (400, 1:01.01), Anna Ditman (800, 2:29.65), the 4x100 relay team (50.86) and the 4x400 relay team (4:18.77). Felisa Beard (100, 13.27), Khamylle Bollengier (400, 1:05.90) and the 4x800 relay team (11:21.15) finished second with Alani Mullenix (200, 27.68), Natalie Ruvalcaba (400, 1:06.32), Alyssa Rodriguez (800, 2:38.55; 1,600, 5:53.19) and
Monserrat Saavedra (3,200, 12:59.48).
