Olivia Maragos ended her decorated four-year soccer career with Ripon as MVP of the Trans-Valley League.
It’s her fourth all-league accolade after being named Most Outstanding Offensive Player last season and a two-time first-team selection as an underclassman.
Malia Locarnini is the sixth different Ripon player to earn Most Outstanding Defensive Player in as many seasons, and Bryce Perkins received Coach of the Year after leading the Indians (11-1 TVL, 18-5-1 overall) to their sixth consecutive league championship. Sophomore forward Estrella Machado of runner-up Sonora (9-2-1, 11-4-1) is the new Most Outstanding Offensive Player.

Ripon has five total all-league honorees with another two making the second team. Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI champion and NorCal Division V finalist Ripon Christian (6-6, 17-9-1) has four on the first team and two on the second.
For the boys, Ripon (5-3-4, 11-13-4) and Ripon Christian (5-3-4, 11-5-6) each have six overall all-league players after advancing to the postseason for the first time in 10 years. Ripon Christian’s Danny Koolhaas is boys Coach of the Year.
Major player awards were divvied out to Orestimba’s Alfredo Figueroa (MVP), Sonora’s Sam Villafana (Most Outstanding Offensive Player) and Hilmar’s Alexis Arenas (Most Outstanding Defensive Player).

Girls
With 45 goals, five assists and 95 points on the season, Maragos ranked as the sixth-leading scorer in the SJS and No. 17 in the state. In 12 league games, Ripon’s target striker amassed 29 goals and three assists, including six hat tricks and four braces.
Locarnini contributed three assists to the attack and led the Indians’ stingy back line with 124 steals. Ripon surrendered just eight goals in league play.
Fellow senior defender Starla Skiles (goal, assist, 65 steals) also made the All-TVL first team. She is joined by senior midfielder Madelyn Reedy (four goals, seven assists) and freshman defensive midfielder Sofia Cabello (goal, assist, 108 steals). Junior defender Clara Schoolland (two assists, 80 steals) and sophomore outside midfielder Danielle Rey (four goals, six assists) are second-team picks.
Junior winger Alanna Blanco (seven goals, five assists), junior goalkeeper Morgan Schenk (9.9 saves per game), senior defender Jeanne Oosterman and freshman forward Naomi Hendricks (five goals, three assists represent Ripon Christian on the all-league first team. Schenk finished seventh in the SJS and 18th in the state with 176 overall saves.
Junior midfielder Addison DeJong (three goals, assist) and sophomore forward Brooke Barnes (three goals) made the second team.

Boys
Earning all-league first-team recognition for Ripon are senior midfielder Alejandro Prieto (six goals, three assists), senior defender Richard Langenfeld (four assists), junior forward Brian Machado (six goals, assist) and junior defender Cameron Dumlao (assist). Defenders Armando Ayon and Johanny Padilla are on the second team.
Freshman forward Collin Lecain (11 goals, four assists), senior striker Drew Meester (six goals, six assists), defender Isaiah Vander Woude (goal, 10 assists) and junior defender Daniel Lambdin (three assists) received all-league honors for Ripon Christian. Freshman midfielder Talen Tameling (three goals, two assists) and junior midfielder Aaron Van Hofwegan (three goals, assists) were named to the second team.
