FLAG FOOTBALL: Lancers hold off Mountain House to remain perfect in VOL

 East Union held off Mountain House on the road Thursday for a 32-28 win that moves the Lancers to 2-0 in Valley Oak League play.

Quarterback Julianna Gaspar led the attack with five touchdown passes and a two-point conversion.

Kaylee Mejia was on the receiving end of two of those TD scores. Ava Barrera caught one touchdown and made an interception on defense. Gwen Baker and Caliyah Lopez added one TD reception apiece.

Journi Dixon chipped in a two-point conversion and recorded a key sack defensively. Isabelle Reyes paced the defense with five tackles.

Now 8-2 overall, the Lancers will take on cross-town rival Sierra for the first time next week. The two-game set starts Tuesday at East Union.

The junior varsity team was also victorious Thursday, downing Mountain House, 26-6.

Amirah Harrington threw for four touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Makayla Burlingame caught two TD passes, Sara Dutra had one along with a two-point conversion, and Elliana Flores chimed in with a TD catch.
