East Union, Sierra and Lathrop made their postseason debuts on Tuesday, all comfortably winning their Sac-Joaquin Section Division III openers at home.
Seventh-seeded East Union took care of No. 10 Buhach Colony, 25-8.
Quarterback Julianna Gaspar completed 27 passes for 269 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those TDs were to senior captain Kalyee Mejia.
Caliyah Lopez reeled in 11 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Gwen Baker had eight receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Larissa Harries led the defense with three tackles, a pass deflection and an interception.
The Lancers head to second-seeded Del Campo (14-3) on Thursday.
Sierra 60, Weston Ranch 0
The third-seeded Timberwolves (19-5) thrashed their Manteca Unified rival at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium. No. 14 Weston Ranch fell to 7-12.
Janessa Barnes burned the Cougars for 199 yards and four touchdowns on 12 receptions. Zoe Sutton compiled seven catches for 77 yards and two TDs. Alison Cozby added a touchdown reception.
Maitland Kohoutek was 8-of-11 passing for 189 yards, three touchdowns, one interception. She split time behind center with freshman Tessa Zalunardo, who was 18-of-21 for 141 yards, four TDs and two interceptions. Taylor Zalunardo rambled for 63 yards on three rushes.
Gracie Costa and Peyton Duarte each contributed a pick-six. Katie Machado also had an interception, while Margeil Garcia finished with a team-high five tackles and a sack.
Sierra hosts No. 6 Rio Linda (15-6) in the quarterfinals.
Lathrop 41, Wheatland 25
Jaleiyah Ray (five catches, 58 yards) and Sareah Reed each ran for 60-yard touchdowns in the historic win for fourth-seeded Lathrop (19-3). Faith Allen added a 40-yard touchdown scamper.
Luz De Luna completed 12 passes for 126 yards and three touchdowns, one to Abby Renteria.
Heiddy Camacho anchored the defense with eight tackles and two interceptions. Dayanna Martinez notched six tackles, while Melia Lewis had two tackles and a sack.
The Spartans welcome No. 5 Fairfield (20-4) on Thursday.

The 14th-seeded Buffaloes (12-13) could not keep up with the section’s reigning Division I runner-up.
