The Buffaloes senior led Manteca to a pair of convincing victories last week with a 72-50 road win over Lodi on Tuesday and then on Thursday, trouncing Tokay 69-33.

“Noah has done a great job offensively,” Buffaloes coach Jason Hitt said. “He has been on the varsity since his sophomore year. A couple of weeks ago he had four 20-point games in a row in the tournaments we were in and he has been very consistent for us offensively, something we didn’t have that much last year.

“If you look at the stat line we are pretty balanced as a team, but having a 15-plus scorer and then having four other guys that score 11, 12 or nine makes us really hard to guard. Noah puts the pressure on himself to get to the line and he is doing that a lot more this year. In one game he was 12 for 15 from the line.”

Averaging 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds a game, Lyons scored 14 points and made six rebounds against Lodi. Against, Tokay he scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Manteca limited the Tigers to just five second-half rebounds.

“We have been working on pacing the ball fast,” Lyons said. “We try to get down the court fast and focus on rebounding and our half-court defense.”
