The senior outside hitter has managed to make the most of Lathrop’s short matches.
One of the most efficient hitters in the state, Green helped lead the Spartans to three more wins last week, and they extended their remarkable streak of set wins to 50.
On March 28 against Pacheco, he produced a 14-kill, 10-dig double-double in a 25-10, 25-14, 25-13 sweep. The following night, the Spartans faced Manteca Unified rival Weston Ranch for a non-league match and rolled, 25-16, 25-14, 25-19. Green led the way with 13 kills, six aces and nine digs.
Last Thursday, Lathrop hosted Mountain House for a first-place battle in the Western Athletic Conference. The match was over with as quickly as the rest, with the Spartans steamrolling to a 25-10, 25-17, 25-13 victory. Green again clobbered 14 kills to go with six digs.
Green, who has signed with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana, is ranked 15th in the state with 4.2 kills per set, according to stats submitted to MaxPreps. He also holds the fifth-highest hitting percentage at .489.
Lathrop improved to 9-0 in the WAC and 19-0 overall on Monday, dominating its rematch with Mountain House, 25-9, 25-16, 25-20. Green served a whopping 10 aces and had eight kills and five digs.
