SACRAMENTO — This season had been quite the grind for Ripon Christian High.

So said Knights coach Phil Grams following his team's lopsided 55-7 loss to Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI powerhouse Bradshaw Christian.

"The grind finally took a toll on us," he added.

No. 8 RC (5-7) had a rough go early on at the Home of The Pride.

Top-seeded Bradshaw Christian (11-0) was led by quarterback Ethan Rickert and standout running back Mateo Mojica.

On defense, the Pride came up with three interceptions, including two by Carson Fitzpatrick and the other by Mojica, along with the constant backfield pressures from Devyn McDonald II and company.

RC had its woes against the Bradshaw Christian's double-wing offense.

Mojica led the charge with his game-high 127 yards on 16 carries while scoring three touchdowns, all in first half.

He reached the end zone on runs of 6, 20, and 14 yards, as Bradshaw Christian sported a 35-0 lead by halftime.

Brandon Burden chipped in with a scoring run of 7 yards. He also caught a 7-yard pass from Rickert for his other TD.

Rickert connected with McDonald II on a 21-yard score early in the third, as the Pride added to their lead, 42-0.

RC ended its scoring drought soon after, as quarterback Mason Tameling marched his team down the field.

The Knights were further helped out on penalties of the 15-yard variety called on Bradshaw Christian.

Tameling capped off the drive by finding Daniel Lambdin on a 30-yard scoring strike.

"We finally resembled RC football," Grams said.

Nathan Zeppieri of Bradshaw Christian applied the finishing touches on the rout, as he broke loose on touchdown runs of 26 and 52 yards.

The Pride will host No. 4 Linden in the semifinals next Friday, Nov. 22.
