LOWER LEVELS: Lancers conquer Kimball in junior varsity blowout

Peyton Heath threw for two scores and ran for two more Friday night to lead East Union to a 37-0 non-league win over former Valley Oak League foe Kimball.

Heath (6 of 7 passing, 82 yards, two touchdowns; six carries, 27 yards, two touchdowns) threw touchdown passes of 14 yards to Nikko Hisatomi and 34 yards to Ricky Soria (two receptions, 40 yards), while running in scores from 3 and 5 yards out. The other two Lancers scores came on returns of 3 yards by Damian Delgadillo off a blocked punt and Maddox Morales of 41 yards off a fumble recovery. Chase Kalin added 28 yards on three receptions.

Shane Saenz paced the East Union defense with six tackles, Jesse Martinez added four tackles and a fumble recovery with three tackles apiece for Erick Cortez (forced fumble, blocked kick), Morales (two forced fumbles) and Delgadillo.


Sierra 40, Grace Davis 6

The Timberwolves’ Daryl Carpenter shredded the Spartans for six touchdown passes.

Carpenter (10 of 13 passing, 170 yards) had touchdown throws of 22, 25 and 66 yards to Marcus Zeiher (four receptions, 108 yards), 9 and 16 yards to Kian Mejia and 6 yards to Alberto Cervantes.


Ripon Christian 21, El Capitan 18

The Knights scored two touchdowns in the fourth period for the come-from-behind win.

Tyler Van Elderen (eight carries, 42 yards) scored on runs of 7 and 9 yards, while Noah DeBruyn (7 carries, 25 yards) tallied a 9-yard touchdown run.

Ripon Christian’s Stadtler Postma was 2-of-7 passing for 52 yards, with both passes going to Talen Tameling.

Dylan Segaar made seven tackles for the Knights, Myles Pollard six with four apiece for Tameling and DeBruyn.


Mountain House 8, Lathrop 6

Jayden White scored on a 5-yard run for the Spartans in the second quarter, giving Lathrop a 6-0 lead at halftime.

Lathrop’s Ekam Sohal tallied 80 yards on 13 carries, White had 12 carries for 56 yards and Keonie Green added 40 yards on five carries. D.J. Reyno was 5-of-11 passing for 60 yards with Elijah McAllister making three receptions for 30 yards. 

Jayden White made six tackles for the Spartans, Avner Faaaliga five, Sirfelix Barney four, Reyes Guerrero three and Sohal two.


Freshman

Mountain House 6, Lathrop 0
The Jaguars managed a third-period touchdown, and that proved to be the difference.

Jaylen Santos gained 80 yards on 18 carries for the Spartans, and Didier Lofaro added 10 carries for 45 yards.

Lathrop’s Eshan Clair tallied 12 tackles, Dario Joseph seven, Alex Smith four and Joshua Talalele three. Santos recovered a fumble and broke up two passes.


Lodi 24, Manteca 22

A successful two-point conversion in the third period for the Flames versus a missed two-point attempt by the Buffaloes in the same period proved to be the difference.

Brixton Menchaca-Ortiz scored a pair of touchdowns on 1- and 5-yard runs and Brody Carabello (2 of 6 passing, 25 yards; 12 Carries for 118 yards) added a 5-yard touchdown run. Josiah Moreno added a catch for 15 yards.

Menchaca-Ortiz made seven stops and Carabello six.
