William Peter Sarina was born May 9,1932 in Escalon to Peter and Mary Sarina. He attended Castle Elementary School and graduated from Manteca High in 1951.
He married Bernice Macedo in 1952 and served in the US Army (1953/1954) at Fort Dearborn in Chicago, Illinois. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Manteca, where he actively lived out the remainder of his life.
William was preceded in death by Bernice, his wife of 55 years, grandson Kyle Sarina, brothers, Delfino and Mario Sarina and sister Josephine Sarina Bonini.
He is survived by son Dennis Sarina (wife Judy), daughter Kar en Sarina Ratto (husband Dino) and son Kevin Sarina (wife Ju lie), William is also survived by
eight grandchildren, Brianne Ratto Honiotes, Nathan Sarina, Evan Sarina, Ethan Sarina, Nevin Sarina, Aaron Sarina, Natalie Sarina and Alex Sarina and one great-grandson Jesse Sarina. William is also survived by sister Frances Sarina Lober, sister-in-law Celia Macedo Long, brother-in-law

Carmen Macedo, brother-in-law Arthur Lucas and sister-in-law Vivian Sarina.
William spent his career work ing for the County of San Joaquin as the head of Building & Maintenance, first at the Stockton Airport, finishing up at the County of San Joaquin Hospital in French Camp. He retired in 1990.
Willaim was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was involved in the Call 4-H Club where he served as the Community Club Leader
for many years, as well as Camp Director at their summer camp and president of the 4-H Council. His hobbies included restoring old cards and he belonged to
Manteca’s All Ford Club where he won many awards for his cars. William was a long-time active member in Manteca’s American Legion Post 249. William was an avid sports supporter of Manteca High, attending many of their football, basketball, and baseball games with friends who were well known as the “Old Geezers”. William and his brother Mario have been honored and will be remembered through a mural painted on the wall near the Manteca Library.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Park View Cemetery Funeral Home, 3661 French Camp Rd., Manteca. The funeral will immediately follow at
10 a.m. at Park View. Internment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 Carrolton Rd, Escalon at 11:30 a.m. A separate celebration of life is being planned for May 2024, with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation’s in Bill’s name to the American Legion Post 249, 220 E. Yosemite Ave., Manteca, CA 95336 or your favorite charity.
