Vernon Browning
Vernon “Vern” Browning, 70, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael with his daughters at his bedside.
   Mr. Browning was a native of Turlock, California. Vernon served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division. He received the Bronze Star, and the Army Medal of Commendation with “V” Device for valor.
   He worked for Grand Auto Supply as an automotive parts and service person for 30 years. He was a 31 year parishioner of Providence Baptist Church of Tracy and enjoyed the time spent with his church family. He liked fishing, bike riding, woodworking, and tinkering with things to make them work. He was known to have a mischievous sense of humor. He enjoyed his Sunday night dates with Bo.
   He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, and was always there for the ones he loved. Vern loved his family and spending time with each of them. He will be greatly missed by all.          
   He is survived by his children, Kathrine Puck and husband Michael of Modesto, Meredith Huerta of Hughson, brother, Garry Browning and his wife Dena of Riverbank; grandchildren, Sweet Pea, Little Man, Rascal “Vern Jr.”, Sugar Plum and Four.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, of 42 years Cynthia Browning, parents, Homer and Ruth Browning, and a sister, Vera Reeves.
   A funeral service will be celebrated Monday, June 25, 2018, 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., Tracy, followed by burial with honors at 1:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., Santa Nella, CA 95322. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Memorial contributions in Mr. Browning’s name may be made to: Providence Baptist Church, for Missions work, 11000 W. Clover Rd., Tracy, CA 95376 or to a local Veterans Organization of donor’s choice.

Kathleen Nascimento, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Stockton, California, on October 1, 1947, she spent the majority of her life as a cherished resident of Manteca, where she touched the hearts of many.
