Suzanne Eileen Winters passed away peacefully on February 9, 2023 in Modesto at the age of 79. Susan was born on November 1, 1943 to parents William and Amelia Brown.
Susan has been a lifelong resident of Ripon. Susan worked as a teacher’s aide at Ripon Unified School District for over 40 years, specializing with special needs students. She loved to travel to Canada to visit her cabin on Uncha Lake and the surrounding territories. She completed the Alaskan ice road to Northern Prudoe Bay. She also white water rafted in Canada, Norway, California and Alaska even though she never learned how to swim. Susan will be remembered for her
unending generosity, loving spirit and how much she and Hank argued every harvest.
Susan leaves behind her children, Henry Winters, Jr. (Autum) and Ja-Neen Fisher (Mike) and her grandchildren, Marissa Winters, Michael Fisher, Jr., Dale Fisher, Julieanne Fisher, Brent Dirksen and Sara Dirksen. Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Winters.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Winters family. Services for Susan are scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, with a viewing starting at
9 a.m., followed by a service at 10 a.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 S. Palm Ave., Ripon.
