Shirley Nicolay peacefully passed away on June 5, 2024, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born, May 23, 1931, in Holland, to parents, Romke and Stientje Wielstra, and was one of six children. 

   She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ed Nicolay; her

siblings, Sikke Wielstra, Bart Wielstra, Renske Wielstra and Eitsan Wielstra.              Shirley is survived by her children, Vera Anderson of Salida, Edward Nicolay (Gail) of Ripon and Jim Nicolay (Marjorie Ann)

of Tennessee, and her sister, Ineke Hogenboom. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

   Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Nicolay family. A viewing for Shirley will be held, Monday, June 10, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. 111 S. Palm Ave., Ripon; A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Ripon Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Church.
