Ruth Ann “Sunny” Saarloos, was born on July 1, 1942 in Paso Robles, CA and passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, in Stockton, of cancer at the age of 67. Sunny has been a Ripon resident for the last 39 years and will be joining her late parents Leslie & Edna Whetstone and her brother Sonny Whetstone. Sunny is survived by her husband Chuck Saarloos of 37years; her sister Goldie Zwemke of Ripon; brother, Ben Whetstone of Clearlake; children, Sandy Thien, Kathy Valdez, Sue Donahue, Chuck W. Saarloos and Jayme Moffatt all of Ripon and Steve McFarlin of Long Barn; grandchildren, Danny, Diena, Michael Spiess, Jennifer, Joseph, Angela, Melissa, Michael Donahue, CJ(deceased), Jacob, Brianna, Steve, Frank, Justin, Anthony, Heather, Rickey, Lindsey, Lacey, Nick and 6 great-grandchildren.
Sunny will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for many years beside her husband in the family business. It didn’t need to be a holiday for her to plan a family gathering that kept us all close to each other. Sunny loved camping and fishing with her family, taking care of her home, as well as spending time with her kids, grandkids and loving husband. Sunny was the heart of the family and will be greatly missed by us all.
A private family graveside service was held at the Ripon Cemetery on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. In loving memory donations may be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin 3888 Pacific Ave. Stockton, CA 95204.
