Robert “Bob” G. Walker, 71, entered into rest on Monday, October 12, 2009 surrounded by his beloved family at his residence in Farmington. He was born on July 12, 1938 in Rector, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Syble Hawks, his step-father, Homer Hawks, his father, Robert Walker and his son Robert Dean Walker. Robert was a resident of Farmington for 19 years.

Mr. Walker is survived by his beloved wife Janet Walker of 24 years of Farmington. His children are Deirdre Walker of Nevada, Laura Bradford of Utah and Kendra Renberg of Stockton. He was blessed by seven grandchildren; Shantel Shirley of Patterson, Christopher Harp of Patterson, Michael Harp of Patterson, Gabriel McAlester of Nevada, Cody McAlester of Nevada, Justin Renberg of Stockton, and Arron Renberg of Stockton and one great-grandchild.
Bob retired in 1987 after 29 years of service from the United States Federal Government as a packaging specialist. During his 29 years Robert worked for Sharpe Army Depot, Tracy Defense Depot, Tobyhanna Army Depot in Pennsylvania and U.S. Troop Support Command in St. Louis, MO. In 1989 Bob went back to work for a government contractor at Rough and Ready Island for 10 years and again retired in 1999.

Bob was an avid golfer and loved all sports. He enjoyed socializing with good friends and family. He loved his family and friends dearly and his long time and closest friend Ray  Moreno. Bob’s strong heart and his amazing positive attitude throughout his long illness was noted by friends, family, and doctors. Bob’s fun-loving spirit and big heart will be his legacy.

Mr. Walker’s final arrangements are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres, Modesto, CA 95356. Private services were held.
