Richard L. Percival, born September 13, 1926 in Stockton, CA, passed away on March 20, 2019 in Manteca. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Clyde Percival.
Mr. Percival is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret and his children Elizabeth Hopkins (Larry), Belinda Gee (Dan), Kevin Percival (Leah) and Jeff Percival (Marcy). He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Braden, Brianne, Conan, Lindsey, Zachary, Jennifer, Julia, Kylie, Austin and Bryce. He had 13 great-grandchildren, Brylee, Brysen, Brendan, Miranda, Shiloh, Zion, Vale, Clara, Ben, Jack, Niko, Eliana and Theo. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Hall and sisters-in-law, Ann Percival and Joyce Percival.
Richard was a resident of Manteca for 92 years; graduating from Manteca High School in 1943, he was just 18 years old when he was drafted into the Army. Upon completing his three years of military service, he attended San Jose State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Science. He went on to a successful career as a chemist at Occidental/Simplot. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lathrop. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and eating homemade ice cream. Richard will be remembered as an honest gentlemen with high integrity, and a deep love for his wife and family.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Percival family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Chapel Service at 1pm at P.L.
