With the greatest of sadness, the Cruz family announces the passing of Ray Cruz on July 19, 2022.  Ray was born in french Camp to Dionicio and Mercedes Cruz.

   He was preceded  in death by his parents and his siblings, Delfina Cruz, Amparo Espinoza, Pauline Cortez, Lupe Calderon and Juan Cruz.  He is survived by his wife Lele, his siblings, Mary Cruz, Cruzita Ybarra, Lucy Jacquez, Angie Espinoza, Phillip Cruz, Cres Cruz, Dan Cruz.  Ray is also survived by four generations of loving nieces and nephews.  Ray loved and attended all the large family gatherings and events.

   Ray attended Manteca schools and graduated Manteca High School, class of 1957.  Ray began his career as a correctional officer at DVI. and simultaneously he joined the National Guard.  He continued his formal education and received an A.S, and B.S. and his Masters.  As he was earning his degrees he was promoted in his field of work and became an Associate Warden at Tehachapi, CA State Prison.

   In his spare time he went to Real Estate School and earned his Brokers License.  Upon his retirement Ray enjoyed golfing, hang gliding, para-sailing, snorkeling and hiking at various venues in the USA and Mexico.  Ray was a  quiet gentle man of strength, courage, and kindness for everyone.

   A private family service will be held at a later date.
