Paul Schaffer passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Manteca, California. He was born on September 25, 1953 in Oakland,  California to the late James Schaffer and Beatrice Sargent.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Tami Fisher, and his children, Brad Dickson of San Francisco, Elise Schaffer of San Francisco, Leah Schaffer of Manteca, Amanda Fisher of Modesto and Priscilla Fisher of Stockton. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Olivia and Colton Mendoza of Modesto. He is preceded in death by his siblings, James Schaffer and Michelle McKay. He is survived by his siblings, Cathi Darrow, Colleen Darrow, Maureen (Brian) Jacobson, Mark (Katie) Schaffer and Mary (David) Schaffer.
Paul was a creative man who had a long career as a carpenter. His first love, however, was rock collecting. Together, Paul and Tami spent many days combing the beaches for special rocks to add to their collection. He was a devoted and loving father who always showed up to support his children.
Paul was devoted to AA and proud to say he had over 32 years of sobriety under his belt. He shared his experiences with many of the close friends he met and mentored at AA. Being sober for his family for over 32 years was something he took seriously and was dedicated to maintaining throughout his life.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Schaffer family. An online guestbook is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com.
