It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Patricia "Pat" Morton. Pat was a caring wife, wonderful mother, loving grandmother and a sincere friend.
She passed away on December 5, 2022 at age 74. Pat was born to Frank and Marian Leal on September 6, 1948. After graduating from high school, she completed her bachelor's degree at California State University Hayward.
Pat was a beloved elementary school teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Manteca, CA where she taught for 20 years. Her pride was in her school and students. She shared her passion for learning with hundreds of children over the years. Pat made an impact as a teacher at Lincoln Elementary that will last a lifetime and she will forever be in the hearts of her students and colleagues.
Pat's greatest joy in life was spending time with her four grandchildren whom she showered with affection and love. Whether it was baking, having sleepovers, watching Disney movies, helping with their school work or just sitting and sharing her love of reading with them, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. Pat loved the ocean. She and Tom took many trips to Monterey together enjoying the beautiful sunsets on the beach. She spent many summers taking her grandchildren on overnight trips to Aptos where they enjoyed the beach and Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk. Pat also enjoyed golfing. She and Tom golfed together in leagues and with
friends. Traveling was a passion of Pat’s. In 2019, She and Tom visited Portugal and traveled the country together enjoying the wine and culture. Pat was very proud to be of Portuguese descent and made sure her children and grandchildren knew their heritage and enjoyed Portuguese food and culture as she did. She enjoyed making Portuguese
biscuits with her youngest granddaughter, Brooke.
Pat was predeceased by her father Frank, mother Marian and sister Jackie Leal. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Tom, son Tommy Morton, daughter Alison Romines, grandchildren Taylor Morton, Ashley Morton, Jacob Morton, Brooke Romines and her three brothers Frank, John and Robert Leal.
