Mona Lee Garcia, 74, entered into rest on Monday, March 29, in Lathrop. She was born on January 16, 1936 in Oakland, California. She joins her son in heaven Lonnie Garcia, and 4 brothers.
Ms. Garcia is survived by her loving companion of 35 years Jay Triplett of Lathrop. Her children are Gina Garcia of Stockton and Robin Lopez of Stockton. She was blessed by 3 grandchildren, Thomas Martinez of Oakland, Ashley Lopez of Lathrop and Ruben Lopez of Stockton. She also has 4 very special great-grandchildren: Joy, Jazmine, Hailey and Anthony “Mokie.”
Mona was an extremely proud homemaker; making her home just perfect for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed relaxing watching her favorite T.V. shows. In her younger years she loved fishing, hunting, and camping with her companion Jay. She always found peace when enjoying the beauty of the outdoors and Mother Nature. She was well known to her family for cooking wonderful home-cooked meals and desserts. Mona was a true woman; never missing a fantastic shopping trip and a great sale. She loved to visit new restaurants; eating out frequently with her family. She was an avid plate collector, decorating her home with gorgeous southwestern theme. Mona’s grandbabies meant the world to her, reading nursery rhymes and spending quality time with them brought great joy to her heart. Mona will be remembered as an extremely loving lady with a big heart. She will be missed.
