Mary P. Cardoza, 98, passed away June 13, 2010 at her residence in Manteca. In 1931 Mary moved to Manteca from Los Banos soon after her marriage to husband, Joe. Together they raised two children on their dairy farm and later farmed alfalfa, grapes and almonds. She loved her family unconditionally and supported them in any way she could. Mary was a fabulous cook and prepared Sunday dinner for her children and grandchildren every week. She worked hard but made it look easy. She was positive, cheerful and ready to go anywhere at a moment’s notice. Mary enjoyed playing cards and was quite a knowledgeable football and baseball fan. She was very proud of her age and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Edward Cardoza and wife, Dolores, Manteca; Dorothy Indelicato and husband, Vincent, Manteca; grandchildren: Marie Indelicato Mathews and husband, Kim, Linda Cardoza, Robert J. Indelicato and wife, Leslie, Edward Cardoza Jr. and wife, Belinda; 11 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren. She wass preceded in death by her husband, the late Joe L. Cardoza, siblings: Manuel Phillips, Ann Repose Marciel, Frances Graviel, Henry Phillips, Raymond Phillips, Dorothy Loskotof, Lucille Genter, Joseph Phillips Roques, Mary Jacinta Roques, and one great-grandchild Jeanette Mathews.
Visitation is Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. Rosary/Mass will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Final Resting Place: Park View Cemetery, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.
