Mae Ellen Barksdale passed away peacefully on February 9th at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 24, 1927 in Kansas to parents Andrew and Lula Charles.

Mae was married to her husband Richard Barksdale for 60 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Lula Charles, her husband Richard Barksdale and brothers Ira and Andrew Charles, and one baby girl Charles.

Mae is survived by five children: Linda (Roger) Siebe, Elaine (Matt) Loewenstein, Richard (Yvonne) Barksdale, Ronnie Barksdale and Marleen Barksdale. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mae was a Sunday school teacher for 15 years and a cook for 37 years. Mae loved spending time with her family and dogs. She enjoyed reading romance novels and loved taking frequent trips to Tahoe and Reno for her love to gamble.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, from 4-7pm at Park View Cemetery in French Camp. Services will be held at Calvary Community Church on Lathrop Rd., Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2pm. Final resting place will be at Park View Cemetery following services.
