Madalena Silveira, a cherished Mãe, Avó, Avózinha, Irmã, Tia, and friend, passed away on December 3, 2024, in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 16, 1940, in the Azores, Madalena made Ripon and Manteca her home for the past 38 years.

   Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Matias Silveira, her son Angelo Silveira, and her siblings Maria Machado, Geraldo Teixeira, and Lawerence Teixeira. Madalena leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

She is survived by her children; Frank Silveira (Elizabeth), Lucy Bettencourt (The Late Ed), Ed Silveira (April), and Luzia Silveira, along with her grandchildren that she cherished; Eddie (Nicole), Alison (William), Elijah, Adam (Taylor), Seth (Karena), Elizabeth, Joseph, Gavin, and Zada (Fiancée Chandler). Her great-grandchildren; Amadea, Alexander, Tryston, Maxwell, Madalen, Willah, Beau, Westyn, and Lukas, were a source of immense joy in her life. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings Jose Teixeira (Palmira), Antonio Teixeira (Honoria), Artur Teixeira (Florinda), Angelo Teixeira (Mary), Albert Teixeira (Membla), Germano Teixeira (Maria), and brother-in-law Jose Machado.

   Madalena was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and often attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church with her daughter. She was a member of  the Luso-American organization.

With a loving heart, Madalena took care of her daughter, Luzia, who has special needs, every day. Making sure she was well taken care of and did not need anything, who is now being cared for by her sister, Lucy. A passionate gardener, Madalena took great pleasure in tending to her various fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. She was also a talented crocheter, creating blankets and socks for her family. Known for her delicious cooking, Madalena was well-known for her homemade cornbread, sweet bread, lasagna, torresmos, and flihós. She always made sure no one went hungry even if it meant she always had too much food.   Madalena enjoyed watching game shows, reading Portuguese Catholic literature and she never missed her Sunday masses. A true caretaker at heart, she selflessly prioritized the needs of her family above her own, ensuring everyone felt loved and supported. She made sure everyone knew she loved them.

   Her loving, caring, and positive personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her or met her. Madalena made it a point to express her love to everyone around her every time she saw or spoke to them.  Madalena will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Silveira family. A visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2024  2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil at 6:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. A mass will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca.
