Lucille Cardoza Simpson passed away on April 4, 2011 at Tracy Convalescent & Rehab Center. She was 86 years old and had been a resident of Pleasanton for many years and Tracy for 45 years. She was born on January 14, 1925 to John & Delfina Cardoza in Crows Landing and grew up in the Azores. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking care of everyone. Lucille was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Simpson, Charles Beffa and Hilario Rocha, her daughter Joan Christopher, her siblings John Cardoza, Alvarinho Cardoza, Mary Barbosa, Evo Cardoza, and Joe Cardoza, and her parents.
Lucille is survived by her children Joe & Liz Rocha of Tracy, Tony & Phyllis Rocha of Manteca, Danny & Jerry Lynn Rocha of Tracy, Allan Simpson of Stockton, and Sally Crocker of Jackson; her grandchildren Sarah Houston of Manteca, Jared Rocha of Manteca, Keith Rocha of Tracy, Kyle Rocha of Tracy, Vincent Rocha of Tracy, as well as 8 additional grandchildren from her marriage to Cecil, and 18 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings Johnny Cardoza of Fortuna, Alice Cozzolino of Half Moon Bay, Ida Ball of Modesto, Al Cardoza of Belize, Natalie Pasterino of Half Moon Bay, Frank Cardoza of Idaho and Inez Curtis of Halfway, Oregon.
Memorial service will be on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue in Tracy. In loving memory donations may be made to Tracy Interfaith or the McHenry House of Tracy. Arrangements by Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.
