Linda Reeves Aksland obit

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother Linda C. Aksland, who left this world on July 25, 2024. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother who deeply impacted the lives of all who knew her.

Linda was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, she always put the needs of others before her own. She was the rock of our family, the one we all turned to in times of joy and sorrow.

Linda C Reeves was born September 25, 1946 in Stockton, California, to Carl and Donnie Reeves. She grew up in Manteca on North Street. She attended Lincoln grammar school and Manteca High School, graduating from Manteca High School in 1964. During high school she worked at Parr Pharmacy as a cashier and then at the telephone company as an operator. Linda has a sister Karen A. Munoz (Andy) and a brother Lindly A. Reeves (Ann).

Linda was preceded in death by Carl and Donnie Reeves and Lindly Reeves. Linda was a loving big sister to Karen and Lindly spending summers with her sister and brother water skiing, swimming at the lake or just running around the neighborhood playing.

Linda Reeves met the love of her life Richard Aksland at Manteca High School, though she would say she didn’t like him that much back then, LOL. They started dating in 1963 and quickly became inseparable. They married on August 8, 1965. Their life together started in a small home on Poplar Ave. in Manteca. Soon after their first child was born they moved to Stockton. Once their second child came along Linda decided they needed a larger home. Linda set out on a mission to find a new home for the growing family, she searched far and wide finding that new home in Lockeford. It was an expensive home for them at that time but Linda knew they needed to own their own home and made every sacrifice she could to ensure her family had a house of their own. Linda stayed home the first 10 years of their marriage to raise her children, run her household, all while supporting her husband Richard who was driving trucks and working long hours. During this time she attended Delta Junior College earning an Associate of Arts degree in child psychology. She was involved in the PTA, 4-H, every holiday event and any other activity her children asked her to help with. She was constantly driving to ballet lessons, music lessons and sports practices.

In 1981, while her children attended high school, she decided to go back to work. She received her Real Estate license that year and embarked on a 40 plus year journey in Real Estate, first as an agent with Red Carpet Realty. Then with Remax Manteca and finally as Broker Owner of Aksland Real Estate Inc. Over those years Linda became an industry leader in Central Valley Real Estate serving on The Manteca Area Realtors Board of Directors. Linda was also involved in many community actives such as the Manteca Pumpkin Fair Committee, The Manteca Mural Society, Manteca Historical Society, numerous Manteca High reunion committees and others. Linda also served many local charities but would always insist her donations and time were not publicized. If you were hosting an event in Manteca and needed a donation, help or guidance Linda was your go to person. Linda was very proud of the community work she was involved in. It seemed as if Linda knew everyone in town, zipping around town in her Corvette she couldn’t be missed. Just a trip to the grocery store could take several hours as she was always visiting with those she knew and didn’t know. She never met a stranger. Over the years Linda mentored many new real estate agents all while making lifelong friends of colleagues and clients alike. If you were lucky enough to work for Linda then you heard this phrase more than once, “What does the contract say”. This was most often the first thing she would ask any Realtor with a question. Her dedication to her clients was always first and foremost.

Linda and Richard have two children, Jeffrey Aksland (Romey) of Manteca and Karie Aksland-Renfroe (Julie) of Modesto; six grandchildren, Scott Aksland, Taylor Aksland, Lauren Taylor, Justin Taylor and Kaylee Renfroe and Hanna Aksland. Along with nine great- grandchildren.

Her memory will forever live on in our hearts. We will miss her infectious laughter, warm hugs, and comforting presence. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness that will continue to inspire us all.  In her honor, we will strive to live each day with the same grace and love that she so effortlessly embodied. Rest in peace, dear Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial will be held at PL Fry and Son Chapel, on August 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. For direct condolences to the family or to watch the service live visit www.plfryandson.com (search tributes for Linda Aksland)
