Lee Van Buskirk was born on January 2, 1921, and received into heaven on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the age of 94. He was a loving husband and father. Lee was married to Marjorie for 67 years before her death in 2013.
A resident of Manteca since 1962, Lee worked as a Correctional counselor for DVI in Tracy. He served his community in several capacities, most notably as a Boy Scout Master, a church acolyte director, an adult education art teacher, Bible study teacher at DVI, and a volunteer worker at the library.
He served his country during World War II as a ground crew corporal stationed near London, England. He painted aircraft used in the war.
He is survived by his sons; Robert and his wife Debra of Modesto, and John and his wife Maria of Fresno, and his three grandchildren.
A memorial service for Lee will be held at St. Mary The Virgin Anglican Church, on 1060 Cottage Ave., Manteca, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1 p.m.
