Lea Weber, 89, entered into the Lord’s presence on August 5, 2013, in Ripon, CA. She was born on July 13, 1924, in Lodi, CA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Elizabeth Kranzler. She joins her parents in heaven as well as her husband Walter Weber and her siblings, Lydia Nelson, Edna Fisher, Ester Zorn, Emil Kranzler, Arthur Kranzler, Tabea Weber, and Viola Blair.
   Lea is survived by her children, Sandra Freitas (Ralph), Kenneth Weber (Mary) and Donald Weber. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Andrea Brasil, Amber Freitas, Ashley Freitas, Matthew Weber, Jamie Weber, Lisa Brown, and Michael Weber and four great-grandchildren,  Nicholas Jacques, Simeon Brasil, Dylan Weber and Connor Brown. She has one surviving brother, William Kranzler.
   Lea was born with a strong-will. She weighed just over three pounds at birth and fit just perfectly in a small shoe box. She grew up in Lodi where she and her sister Tabea would go to many dances as teens. Lea and Tabea met two brothers, Walter and Adolph, who the two sisters later married. Walter and Lea are remembered for how wonderfully and gracefully they danced. In the early 1950’s, they moved to Manteca, which they made their home for over 60 years. While raising her children, Lea always worked little jobs to help make ends meet. Lea never drove a car, so she walked to get around town. She would walk at least five miles a day, and  would talk to everyone she met, no one was a stranger to her. For many years she worked in the dietary department at Palm Haven in Manteca. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting Afghans, table cloths and doilies and making jewelry with her granddaughters. She loved wearing bracelets and it would brighten her day when someone would give her one as a gift. She was an avid reader and would read at least two books a week. She greatly loved a challenging word search. She was a member of Christian Worship Center and she loved the music and sermons.  She loved her extended family at Bethany Home as she enjoyed the company of all the residents and staff members. Most of all, Lea loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to every Sunday when she would spend time at her daughter’s home visiting and enjoying family. She will be remembered as a beautiful spirit, who loved the simple things in life.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Weber family. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son, Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry & Son, at the service the family will be honoring Lea by wearing the color pink, everyone else is welcome to wear pink as it is her favorite color. She will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery.
