Lavina Newman Hahn
August 7, 1926-December 3, 2022
Lavina obit

Lavina Newman Hahn was born August 7, 1926, in Utah to Otto and Fanny Lavina Newman.  She passed away on December 3, 2022, in Stockton, California, leaving behind her daughter Geraldine (Paul) Ely and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard L. Hahn and sons Michael R. Hahn and Thomas E. Hahn.

In 1947 Leonard convinced her to marry him and move to California. She worked for a time at Tracy Defense Depot and at Hahn Realty, but her real passion was her family, and she especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also loved animals, especially dogs, and loved spoiling them!  She enjoyed getting together with friends and traveling when she was able. In her later years, just going for a ride “to get out of the house” was enjoyable.  She was always concerned about the well-being of others and tried to help them when she could. She was very generous and enjoyed giving gifts.  Every year she planted her tomato plants and would check them, almost daily, to make sure

they were growing so that she would have tomatoes to give away. She was also known for making great pies, especially lemon meringue, and loved to share them with others.

She was very witty and had a great sense of humor, especially when telling stories about her life. She relished telling her experiences when she and an elderly friend regularly helped at the local cemetery getting rid of gophers!

She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully for many years.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 14, 2022
