Larry Lynn King, 83, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Kaiser Hospital Modesto of cancer. Born March 21,1939 in Central City, Nebraska, the son of Lawrence Larry and Minnie Pearl King.
Youngest of five siblings, Patricia Horne (deceased),
Richard King, Janet Berdion, and Morris King. Lifelong resident of Manteca, moving
from Nebraska to Manteca, California at the age of two. Attended Manteca High School and was a Manteca High School Buffalo's Booster with his two brothers. They made homemade cookies before each game.
Married to Evelyn Faye Garrup and had two sons, David Lee King and Dwain
Lawrence King. Retired from Simpson Lee/ Fox River Paper Mill in Ripon, where he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for 37 years. Volunteer Firefighter for Manteca Fire Dept.,
Station #1 as a Chief Engineer on the old white
engine now used strictly in parades. Last fire he fought for the Manteca Fire Dept was the El Ray Theatre next to Bank of America, burnt down where the movie "The Towering Inferno" was
playing. Active life time member of the Manteca Sportsmans Club where he served as a Sergeant of Arms and on the Board of Directors. Larry was fathered in as a life time member by his father, Lawrence King. Served as a Sergeant of Arms and was on the Board of Directors and Chairman for the Pheasant
Co-op Program McMullin Road for the Stockton
Sportsman Club also a lifetime member. Active in our community, volunteering on holidays to put the American Flags up along Main St. in celebration of the Holidays. Was an Assistant Boy Scout Master for Troop 432 way back when his boys were young.
Loved to spend his time fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. He loved to hunt, shoot trap, and target shooting. Every week he would meet his brother and good friends at Johnny’s Restaurant for coffee. Larry was known by every one; and he had so many good friends. In addition to his parents, predeceased by his sister,
Patricia Horne, wife, Evelyn Faye King, and son, Dwain
Lawrence King.

Service of Remembrance will be held at Park View Funeral Home & Cemetery
